I am going to DC in October and was told to write my Congressman in order to get tickets to tour the White House...here it is!

Dear Mr. Congressman,

My name is Amy Graves and I am a senior at the University of South Florida in St. Petersburg. I will graduate in the spring of 2007, and will be applying to law schools in the fall of the same year. On October 27th, 2006, I will be visiting The George Washington University Law school and staying in the DC area for the weekend. My friend who is meeting me there is currently earning his Masters in Criminology at The Norfolk Navy base in Virginia.

Both of us have strong interests in law and politics and would enjoy visiting The White House, the epitome of both, on October 28th, 2006. I believe this is a crucial landmark to visit as we pursue our passion for law and move forward to our careers. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Amy Graves

Cordially,

You might want to include your address in the letter or beneath your printed name--congressional staffers sometimes don't read envelopes.
